33. Go to a strip club

Whoops that last one was suppose to be labeled 33.  I guess this one can be.

The fifth day in South Africa Brandeis, Kevin, and I went to Cape Point (the most southern part of Africa).  I don't really know a lot about the history because it was a spur of the moment decision but it was definitely a good time.  So gorgeous.

We got to see the penguins.  I know.  You're probably just as confused as I was.  There are one species of warm climate penguins that live on the beaches of South Africa.  How crazy!  The colony has grown to around 2000.  I waddled for you, Mom.

Along the way there are all of these Baboon signs (exactly like deer crossing signs).  Our taxi driver told us that if we saw one we had to roll up our windows and lock our doors.   It was crazy.  To us they are these fascinating exotic creatures and to him they are annoying pests (like raccoons).  He said they mimic humans so have learned how to open car doors and climb through windows and pretend to drive.  He said one took his ice cream once.  The cabbie was prepared to fight until the baboon showed his fangs (which I guess are like four inches long) and he decided he could get a new ice cream but he wouldn't be able to get a new arm.  This is just part of their daily lives.  That's whack yo.

The fifth night I wasn't planning on going out but ended up staying out until 4:30.  Not ok.  I've been sick for about 10 days now and I don't think this helped it at all.  (Every time I coughed I wanted to tell people I had TB)

We started at Mitchell's eating and then went to Quay Four and met lots of sea people and then went back to Mitchell's(it was karaoke night) and then went to a place in Camp's Bay called Caprise.  This was a very nice, cute club that was getting destroyed by sea people.  It was so crowded.  I just went to the upstairs and watched the chaos.  They shut the place down because someone stole a bottle though (stupid kids).  After that we went to Dizzy's, which was more like a bar.  There was a little dancing going on though.  After that, Daniel and I went to Maverick's, a strip club.  It was a Tuesday so not very happening.  It was an experience though J

I realize that most of the blog posts from South Africa have been focused around its night life and me going out but these were the events that I gained the most from.  I think it may be my new found extroverted-ness (due to the brain tumor) creeping out.  I definitely learn better from people's experiences than from an historical tour.  I cannot tell you how much I learned from each person (especially the guy from Sweden.  Love love love).  So, sorry I'm not.

I'm on a ship.
