I had been forgetting to take my malaria meds. I remembered around
8pm I hadn't taken mine and my friends and I were talking about how I
should take them with some food but the only really "meal" option at
the Piano bar is good ole Cup of Noodles. (gross). I said whatever
and the conversation was done. I get down to my room and obviously
still didn't remember to take my pills until my neighbors walked by
with a Cup of Noodles in their hands (one of them is black). Seeing
the cup I immediately shout, "oh crap, malaria," and turn to get my
pill. Mike (the black kid) quickly (and sarcastically) responds, "ah,
why do you see the black kid and think of malaria?" I tried to
explain with no success. Now he is a constant reminder to take my
meds. Cup of Noodles or not.
Last night, I dreamt that a rabid raccoon in one of the countries
attacked me. I was very afraid in my dream and was trying to avoid it
so hard by getting into a car quickly but somehow it still got me.
Morg was there but clearly she was no help. After I saw it bit me, I
clearly remember calmly thinking, "aww crap, now I have to go see Dr.
Bill." (Dr. Bill is the doctor on board. He loves to scare us before
every country with horror stories of diseases we can contract, things
we can step on, and animals that can maim).
It's raining today. The boat does not have a very efficient way to
get rid of the water so it usually ends up flooding the deck. Fun
times.
I think I have finally hit the wall. Three more days then India.
I have to write one more post for South Africa, my post about my
overnight in Ghana, and my Mauritius post (they let us get off!!!) and
then I'll be all caught up.
