The only downfall is if you chew them too long they get a little
chewy. You have to bite, chew, and swallow. I would recommend that
everyone try one at some point.
To go along with that I think I'm going to try a cobra heart in India
and the blowfish (or pufferfish or whatever) in Japan. The blowfish
has a vein (or something) that if not cut correctly makes the fish
lethal. Don't worry though the chefs who prepare them are super super
skilled at it. The only other problem is that (rumor mill) supposedly
they don't know if they cut it correctly until after it's been eaten
(and the person is either still living or not).
Day 2 wasn't super exciting so I won't bore you.
The culture is so much different I really don't even know how to
explain it. There are street vendors everywhere selling anything and
everything, from cell phones to bras to children's toys. And I don't
think it's for the tourists sake because let me tell you, there aren't
many. They actually buy the things they need from these street
vendors. There are also so many people shopping all of the time. I
actually don't think anybody works or goes to school for that matter.
It is the weirdest thing ever. And as in many countries, time is not
of the essence and service is subpar.
Fun Fact: The guys here. There are so many catcalls, whistles, and
my favorite, claps. It's like we're dogs. They try to get our
attention, not with words (because we wouldn't understand), but with
noises. And even better, I must be their type. I think it's because
many of my friends have light brown/blond hair and I feel like they
are naturally attracted to dark hair. But seriously it's ridiculous.
I was sitting at The Pier (an outdoor restaurant next to the ship)
with a group of people and legit had three guys whip out their camera
phones and take pictures of me. It was SOOOOO awkward. One guy even
attempted to get my attention so that I would look at the camera when
I was walking by.
I realize this sounds super conceited but you don't even know. Thanks
Mom and Dad. (It's your fault because I have your dark hair.)
