from Dominica (Tuesday the 24th) and the rocking is so relaxing. I
missed it. When the boat is rocking I feel like everything is right
with the world (even after only being at sea for two days).
The weather changes so rapidly. One second we'll be laying in the sun
with not a cloud in the sky and the next it'll be raining for 40
seconds. I also "played" basketball in the rain. I actually have a
chance because the rocking/wind messes with everyone's game. I came
in second in lightening (and we were playing with guys). I feel like
I should have gotten a trophy or something.
So far the food is good. It's always the same thing: A salad bar
(the veggies change), a pasta (varying slightly every meal), a type of
potato (it was mash today Haley!), a type of fish, a type of meat, a
soup, and then usually some sort of rice option. Peanut butter,
bread, and jelly are available at every meal. Coffee is also
available 24/7. When this starts to get old I can go upstairs and
purchase food. Some of the items are quite reasonable ($2 for a
cheeseburger) and other items are expensive ($3 for ice cream).
Ok so the above I wrote on Tuesday (the 24th). Now rereading it today
(Friday the 27th) I have some additions. The rain is crazy. The
closer we get to the entrance of the Amazon (we enter officially
tomorrow morning) the more it rains. It's great. It honestly rains
ALL the time. But ten seconds after it stops raining it's sunny out
again.
Anyone watching us tan probably laughs his or her but off. Since
there are only so many things you can do on the boat (everyone
corrects me by saying it's a ship but compared to any cruise ship I've
been on it's definitely a boat), we end up tanning A LOT. As does
everyone else on the ship. I mean really if I'm going to do homework
I might as well lie by the pool and do it. The deck will be
completely covered in recliners and then it'll start raining.
Everyone grabs his or her stuff and scamper under the overhang. We
wait two minutes and then race for chairs when it stops. It goes like
this all day.
Today I also played lightening (everyone else calls in knockout). I
dominated. I never one but everyone was very impressed with my skills
(I'm legit being serious).
Today was/is a reading day so I should probably get going on my
homework. HAHAHA…..
Fun Question: Which of the following is best to clean clothes with:
shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar of soap?
Please respond with SERIOUS answers only to alyssa.hopkins.s12@semesteratsea.org

PLEASE tell me you have laid in the rain and cried. And pretended it was a tennis court.
