the rest tomorrow.
So we officially exited the Amazon yesterday mid-day. Let me tell
you, today is ROUGH. I don't think I slept at all last night. All I
could think about was what pants I was going to wear if we had to
report to our muster stations. After I realized that two out of the
three pairs of pants I brought were being washed (I finally set out a
bag of laundry!), I moved onto my shoes and whether I would have
enough time to put my contacts in (I decided yes). At one point,
after I fell asleep, I started to roll with a wave, thought I was
falling off a cliff, and screamed ahhhhh! When my roommate asked what
was wrong I responded, "wave," and fell straight back to sleep.
Our drawers fly in and out constantly, doors shut when you want them
open, and I'm pretty sure the filament that holds all my organs in
place is ripping. It would be fine if it was every once in a while
but no. It's ALL of the time. Also the crew was laughing at us
because they say this is nothing compared to S. Africa. I guess this
is "good." I'm scared for bad.
There are little floor fans everywhere attempting to dry spots of puke
throughout the ship. It's a very special reminder and an added
obstacle in the hallways.
On a brighter less pukey note, I'm really enjoying my classes thus
far. I'm not necessarily learning SO much information but perhaps a
different way to think. I'm so use to my brain being in business mode
all the time that I forget to think about meanings in books and about
having thoughtful discussions about other cultures.
FF: I really want to know how much SAS paid the NFL in order to play
the Super Bowl (I think it was a lot).
